About the Quality Grader

Optical quality sorter

The QualityGrader is an optical sorting machine for potatoes and onions that uses AI and camera technology to automatically assess and separate products.

As a scalable AI sorting platform, the machine is available in two widths, with a capacity of up to 30 tons per hour and multiple product streams enabled by an optional additional ejection unit. Developed based on practical data and designed for daily use by growers and processors.

How it works

Industrial RGB cameras capture each product multiple times from different angles. Depending on the configuration, the system uses 6 or 9 cameras.

AI models assess each object accurately and objectively. Based on predefined tolerances, the system automatically determines: accepted or rejected. Continuously improved with real-world data.

Rejected products are precisely removed from the main flow, forming the basis for reliable separation of good and defective product.

With an additional second ejection unit, an extra product stream is created, enabling separation between good product, lower quality product, and foreign objects.

The RejectSeparator can also be added as an option. It separates stones and clods from the rejected stream and creates an additional product stream. Flexible to deploy and suitable for use with multiple QualityGraders.
