Not so long ago, the role of product specialist within Flikweert Vision didn't exist. There was a need for a link between practical applications and the development of our machines, but what that role should look like was discovered along the way. The department has now grown into an important connecting link between customers, dealers and various teams within Flikweert Vision.

The voice of the customer
Product specialists have one foot in practice and the other within the organisation. They visit customers, conduct satisfaction surveys, and observe machine performance. They translate these insights into concrete improvements for software, AI, and machine development. “Our goal is to represent the customer within Flikweert Vision,” says Simon. “We identify needs and challenges from practice so that software, AI, and engineering can get straight to work on them.”

From feedback to improvement
As Flikweert Vision has grown, so has the way of working. Feedback is no longer collected solely on the go or during a customer visit, but according to a fixed process. A good example of this is the AI updates. Well before a new update is developed, the team gathers input from customers, dealers and sales. This feedback is carefully weighed for the various applications. Based on this, improvements are developed, tested with customers and then rolled out worldwide. It is precisely this structured approach that ensures new developments are increasingly aligned with practical needs.

Stronger together
More structure has also emerged within the team. With the arrival of Marjon and Martijn, the department has been further expanded and responsibilities have been more clearly divided. In addition, each product specialist has developed their own specialisation in different crops and machinery. This way, knowledge is continually deepened and the department continues to develop. “We all have an agricultural background, but each also brings their own knowledge and specialism. It is precisely this combination that makes us stronger as a team,” says Marjon.
