QualityGrader further developed into a scalable AI sorting platform
Flikweert Vision has launched an upgraded version of the QualityGrader for the optical sorting of potatoes and onions. The further developed machine was recently presented during an online press event and will be showcased live from July during the Flikweert Vision Tour 2026.
The upgraded QualityGrader builds on the existing machine, with more than 450 systems now operating in over twenty countries. With the additional working width and expanded sorting capabilities, the QualityGrader is applicable across a wider range of applications, from growers to processors and industrial sorting lines.
Scalable sorting platform
The QualityGrader automates quality control with maximum accuracy. Advanced cameras and AI software detect defects in potatoes and onions quickly and objectively. The machine is available in multiple capacities and configurations, integrates easily into virtually any sorting line, and positions itself as a scalable AI sorting platform that is reliable, user-friendly, and proven in practice.
In-house software
The software is fully developed in-house and trained specifically on potatoes, onions, and quality defects. By continuously analysing data, sorting performance is further improved. “We develop our software entirely in-house and train it specifically on potatoes, onions, and quality deviations,” says Pieter Priem, Commercial Director at Flikweert Vision. “This allows us to help customers better meet quality requirements and minimise waste streams.”
Flikweert Vision tour ’26
From July onwards, the QualityGrader will be showcased during the Flikweert Vision Tour across Europe. In countries including the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, the machine will be demonstrated live alongside the recently introduced Divider Select. More information about the tour will follow soon!
